A trash can that isn't taken out on time can seriously ruin your health.
British scientists studied the contents of average trash bins and found that potentially lethal bacteria multiply in them very quickly. Up to 600% of new microorganisms appear in left-behind garbage as early as the second week.
The most dangerous among them turned out to be staphylococci, which cause skin abscesses, sepsis, and impetigo. In the garbage, these microbes added about 130% to their population per week.
Over the same period, the amount of E. coli in household waste increased by 82%, and Psudomonas aeruginosa, which leads to skin inflammation and festering — by 71%.
